Sheryl Newman, Founder and CEO of Appetite for Business for Business, has embraced the challenge in this year’s Maggie’s Jail or Bail fundraiser, supporting a cause that provides essential help to those affected by cancer.
As one of the 14 “Jailbirds” taking part in the event, Sheryl has already raised almost £4,400, contributing to the collective total of over £65,000 by all the local Aberdeen business leaders. Found guilty by Judge Tierney for ‘crimes against pink’—something the whole Appetite for Business team can attest to—Sheryl has taken her sentence in stride, all for a great cause.
A Powerful Fundraiser for a Vital Cause
The Maggie’s Jail or Bail event unites business leaders from across the North East, tasking them with raising funds for their ‘bail’ while spreading awareness of the amazing work done by Maggie’s Aberdeen. This vital charity provides free emotional, practical, and social support to anyone affected by cancer, ensuring they never have to face it alone.
Why This Matters To Us
The effects of cancer touch nearly everyone at some point in their lives, and Sheryl’s experience is no exception. Following her ‘conviction’ for ‘crimes against pink,’ Sheryl and her fellow ‘Jail Birds’ are shining a light on the vital role of community support for Maggie’s Aberdeen. The charity’s incredible work closely reflects Appetite for Business’s core values, underscoring a shared dedication to helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges.
