Appetite Awarded Best Place to Work | Top 10 for Small Organisations in the Sunday Times

Appetite is celebrating another year among the Sunday Times UK's Best Places to Work.

Appetite is celebrating after being named in the prestigious Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 list alongside household names such as David Lloyds Clubs, Octopus Energy and EasyJet Holidays.

Appetite is the only Scottish Business named as a winner in the small business category and only 1 of 2 in Scotland across the category winners list!

A Commitment to Inclusivity and Well-being

The UK wide workplace survey assesses companies on a range of vital workplace aspects, including empowerment, job satisfaction, and well-being, recognising those who excel in creating an inclusive environment for diverse groups. The survey’s 26 questions included topics ranging from Empowerment, Reward & Recognition, Job Satisfaction and Information Sharing to Wellbeing and Instilling Pride.

Appetite scores ranked at almost 100% at every level. The overall engagement score for all categories was deemed as ‘excellent’ at 99% and an incredible 25% higher compared to others in the technology industry.

Ethical Practices at the Core

“We’re absolutely delighted to be officially recognised for the second year as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work. It really says so much about how far we have come as business.

As a company with an ethical code of practice, our aim was to create a culture which treats our customers and each other with real care, support, and respect. By looking after our people, we can create the very best outcomes for our customers and this award is testament to that but more importantly for me I am proud of the hard work all of the team have put in to get us here. We will continue to look to get better, recruit and retain talent and help our people build a career here.”

Sheryl Newman, CEO.

Recognition and Beyond

Being independently owned and founded in 2016, Appetite continually pushes the envelope in modern working practices, as demonstrated by our ongoing recognitions such as the Scotland IS award for the best digital workplace in 2022 and our BCorp Certification in 2023.

Our journey is marked by a conscious effort to not only lead in digital transformation with our expert Microsoft 365 consultancy but to also build and maintain an environment where our team can thrive and evolve. This dual focus ensures we provide the best outcomes for our clients while nurturing our internal talent.

“The Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards recognise companies that are innovating to create an engaged and fulfilling working environment for all and in so doing they are creating the best possible platform for business success. To be named on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list is a true recognition of excellence and I congratulate those organisations who made the grade this year.”

Chris Longcroft, EVP Publisher, The Times, and The Sunday Times.

“The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 span all industry sectors and are located throughout the UK. Uniting them is the commitment to make their organisation a better place to work for everyone, and there is no limit to the creative lengths they go to to engage employees. Why have a job just anywhere when you could be carving out a career at a Sunday Times Best Place to Work?”

Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work.

A Future Focused on Growth and Innovation

As we look to the future, our goals are clear. We aim to recruit and retain top talent, fostering a workplace that not only meets the current standards but sets new benchmarks in employee satisfaction and engagement. This recognition by The Sunday Times is a badge of honour and a continuous reminder of our commitment to excellence and innovation.
