The Client

A global, research-driven pharmaceutical organisation dedicated to improving patient outcomes through the discovery, development, manufacturing and commercialisation of prescription medicines. Operating internationally, the organisation is known for its strong commitment to scientific excellence and a patient-centric philosophy that places human health and dignity at the centre of its work.

Its primary therapeutic focus areas are neurology and oncology, where it develops innovative treatments for complex and serious conditions with high unmet medical need. Significant investment in research and development underpins its work, alongside close collaboration with healthcare professionals, partners and regulators to deliver safe, effective medicines at scale.

Challenges

The customer’s small business efficiency team was spending a significant amount of time on manual, administrative tasks in addition to responding to multiple customer requests. These activities reduced the team’s capacity to focus on higher-value procurement work and slowed overall turnaround times. With limited headcount and increasing operational demands, the team needed a way to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and streamline day-to-day activities. They identified an opportunity to use Copilot agents to automate and support admin-heavy tasks, helping the team work more efficiently without increasing resources but were unsure how it could deliver meaningful value. 

Clarity was needed before deciding on a project.

The session covered core AI concepts, how Microsoft 365 Copilot operates within the M365 suite, effective prompting techniques, and live demonstrations including AI agents, video creation, and image generation.
