With a growing number of employees working across multiple high-risk sites, the management team aimed at enhancing their health and safety (HSE) practices by improving their response time to on-site accidents/incidents.
The organisation needed a solution that would instantly notify the right employee, via text or email, with a detailed HSE report. According to the project type and accident/incident severity, the reports would be shared with the relevant HSE decision-maker to enable swift action.
Although the company was capturing health and safety data through Microsoft Forms and accessing it via a SharePoint site, the system had its limitations.
Initially looking at Power Automate for automating their accident/incident reporting, the organisation turned to Appetite for Business for a bespoke and future-proof solution:
• Key decision-makers and managers weren’t receiving critical HSE reports promptly.
• Initial data capture often resulted in incomplete reports.
• Reports could only be submitted through a PC in online conditions, without visual imagery demonstrating the extent of the accident/incident
We recommended tackling the project in two phases, identifying a mix of technologies from the Microsoft Power Platform that aligned with the organisation’s digital roadmap.

The organisation significantly improved its HSE practices by adopting Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint to revamp and automate its incident/accident reporting, aligning with its tech roadmap and future-proofing its processes.
